Meetings in the Kitchen During the War – for 1 act

The play entitled “IDPs”, i.e. internally displaced persons, is based on the tragicomedy “War, Kitchen and 8 Random People”, written in the spring of 2022 by the Ukrainian writer Irina Feofanova.

The author of the play, Honored Artist of Ukraine Andriy Bakirov, defined the genre of this play about the present of thousands of Ukrainians, unexpectedly torn by the war from their usual peaceful life, as “meetings in the kitchen during the war”.

From the personal stories of our contemporaries – ordinary residents of Kherson, Irpen, Izyum, Chernihiv, forced to leave their homes, fleeing the “racist” invasion – a socialized portrait of the UKRAINIAN PEOPLE emerges, full of self-respect and dignity, and capable, regardless of the everyday difficulties of “living together”, to overcome any adversity and not lose the signs of humanity and care for those around them.
